About Us
Fueling Inspiration & a Love for Learning in Every Child
Welcome to Star Route Inc.'s website! We are a grassroots youth organization founded in 2021, with a mission to provide engaging activities and incredible experiences for all children, especially those educated at home, and/or under-served by the traditional school system. We believe every child deserves a chance to learn, grow, and explore in a safe, supportive and inspiring environment. Education should serve to help us find and follow our True North. We hope you will join us today, as a parent, partner or patron.
Let's create unforgettable memories and a stellar community together!
Our Story
Our founder is a homeschooling mother of two, with nearly 20 years experience in the nonprofit higher education and youth development sector(s). Rebecca has worked with Florida Institute of Technology, SUNY Brockport, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Her vision is to create a community of like-minded families educating their children together, to create the next generation of leaders and visionaries.

Valedictorian of Livonia Central School's Class of 2002, and earning her bachelor's degree in History, Psychology and Spanish from New York University in 2005, education is our founder's passion. Rebecca loved and excelled in the traditional school settings, but felt it was not conducive to creating healthy, purpose-driven, passionate adults. In an attempt to break free from the shackles of conformity, Rebecca began Star Route Inc., to help families come together, with a mutual love for learning, and to support each other in their home education journeys.

It is evident the public school system is broken. In an attempt to rectify this, Star Route Inc. offers alternative educational, recreational and life skills programming for under-served kids living in Livingston and sorrounding counties.

Star Route Inc. is located at Springbrook Farm, in the heart of Scottsburg, NY. The area is named after Rebecca's grandmother's maternal lineage, the Scotts. The farm has been in the Scott/Smith/Caldwell family for 6 generations. Previously a dairy farm, Springbrook is now home to an array of activities, programs and services, including Star Route Inc. and Gaia's Goods.
